The International Conference on Palearctic Steppe Birds 2025 is thrilled to announce a special collaboration with Ardeola: International Journal of Ornithology, the scientific journal of SEO/BirdLife in Spain. Building on the legacy of our 2004 conference, this partnership will culminate in a dedicated section within Ardeola showcasing cutting-edge research on steppe birds.
This special section, set to be published in the July 2026 issue of Ardeola, will feature between 5 and 8 high-quality articles selected from the contributions presented during the conference. Submissions will include works derived from oral communications and posters shared at the event.
To ensure a seamless process, the timeline is as follows:
This collaboration not only underscores the scientific importance of the conference but also provides an unparalleled opportunity for researchers to gain visibility within a respected academic platform. Ardeola is recognized for its commitment to advancing ornithological knowledge and fostering global dialogue on avian conservation.
This isn’t the first time our conference has partnered with Ardeola. The successful collaboration following our 2004 meeting resulted in a comprehensive special section that remains a valuable resource in steppe bird research. You can explore that edition here.
We are excited to continue this tradition and encourage all conference participants to consider contributing their work to this special issue. Together, we aim to advance our understanding of steppe birds and highlight the pressing conservation challenges they face.
